Board of State Canvassers axes recalls, moves forward on property tax and zoning measures

At its meeting on Friday, the Michigan Board of State Canvassers considered a number of petitions, including efforts to recall the governor, attorney general and secretary of state. 


The meeting which began at 10 a.m. stretched into the afternoon, with the board concluding the meeting around 4:30 p.m. after considering three recall efforts, a proposed amendment to the state constitution to ban property taxes, and an effort to repeal changes to how the state permits large-scale renewable energy projects.
